Bad Indians: A Conversation with Deborah Miranda
Join an exciting conversation between Deborah Miranda, Thomas H. Broadus Professor of English at Washington and Lee University and author of the groundbreaking multi-genre *Bad Indians: A Tribal Memoir*, and Swarthmore senior and Indigenous Studies & History Major Sierra Mondragón. Miranda’s memoir—the current reading of the Swarthmore NAHM Indigenous Literature Book Club—tells stories of her Ohlone Costanoan Esselen family and explores the experiences of other California Native people through oral histories, newspaper clippings, anthropological recordings, personal reflections, and poems. This talk offers the Swarthmore community the opportunity to learn more about Miranda’s important work.

This talk is generously sponsored by the Swarthmore College President's Fund for Racial Justice, the Intercultural Center, and the Department of English Literature.
